Tourist Visa |
|
The
"visitor" visa is a nonimmigrant
visa for persons desiring to enter
the United States temporarily for
business (B-1) or for pleasure or
medical treatment (B-2).
When an applicant goes for a
visitors visa, he must show that
they qualify under provisions of the
Immigration and Nationality Act. The
presumption in the law is that every
visitor visa applicant is an
intending immigrant. Therefore,
applicants for visitor visas must
overcome this presumption by
demonstrating that:
-
The purpose of their trip is to
enter the U.S.A. just for
pleasure.
-
That they plan to remain for a
specific, limited period; and
-
That they have a residence
outside the U.S. as well as
other binding ties which will
insure their return abroad at
the end of the visit.
Applicants for visitor visas should
generally apply at the American
Embassy or Consulate with
jurisdiction over their place of
permanent residence.

Finger Printing instead of Drop
Box!!: The United States Embassy
Delhi and the U.S. Consulate
Generals in Chennai, Mumbai, and
Calcutta have ended the "drop box"
facility from July 04. The reason
for ending the drop-box facility is
that beginning in July 2004, U.S.
consular sections in India will
start collecting fingerprint
impressions from all visa
applicants, except those traveling
on official government business or
who are under age 14 or over age 79.

hold for long time, it doesn't
mean to be very latest , 1

more then that.

-
Upon receiving your visa,
carefully check for any kind of
mistakes like name, date of
birth, type of visa, validity
date, etc.
-
Never, ever say during the

-
Remember:
The date of expiry of your stay
limit, is the date on the I-94
form slip which will be attached
to your passport at the port of
entry in USA, and not the date
stamped on your visa. Usually
these are the same dates, but in
some cases it might differ.
